The doubleA Lab is a unique laboratory for 21st century music theatre. We are working with new generations of artists and technical partners in the field of music theatre, visual and digital art. Van der Aa uses his experience and reputation in the international circuit to give opportunities to future generations of talented artists. Drawing from his large and diverse network makes it possible to find the right people for each project: young dramatists, designers, stage managers, prop people, producers, assistant directors and virtual reality specialists. In short, each project has a flexible, tailor-made team, put together and directed by a single artistic and business management director. We work step-by-step in week-long ‘sprints’, which are financed per phase.
The doubleA Lab enables us to organise workshops and demonstrations for interested clients and programmers at an early stage. The Lab’s research and development activities give new projects a solid substantive and financial foundation.
